All begins with a human need for something (for here it’s water), for wine, for wholeness, for bread, for sight, for life.  Jesus remedies the need miraculously.  The gift of water so provided functions as a symbol of a much more profound gift that Jesus is the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, the Resurrection and the Life.
