As part of the ongoing Franciscan Jubilee, Secular Franciscans are invited to gather at Franciscan University of Steubenville, November 5-7, for a special academic conference.

The university will host a conference entitled Sister Death—Gate of Life beginning Thursday evening and continuing through Saturday afternoon. Rooted in the spirituality of St. Francis of Assisi, this gathering will invite participants into deeper reflection on life, mortality, and hope.

Keynote speakers will include Rev. J. A. Wayne Hellmann, OFM Conv., and Rev. Thomas A. Piolata, OFM Cap.

In addition to scholarly presentations, the conference will offer opportunities to pray together, experience Franciscan-inspired music, and share in fellowship.

The university has also issued a call for papers, welcoming contributions from all disciplines. Those interested in the Franciscan tradition, healthcare, or end-of-life issues are encouraged to participate. If interested, please send a 400-word proposal and a one-page CV to: jmatenaer@franciscan.edu before June 1.
