  1. Accessibility Committee

OFS-USA Accessibility TableVisit us to meet our national committee members and gather resources on welcoming and accommodating all our current and future brothers and sisters who live with a disability or are deaf.  Pick up resources to learn about disability etiquette, making your in-person and Zoom meetings accessible and welcoming, and view samples of our essential Franciscan documents in Braille and large print.  And of course, we are here to help if you have a need while you are participating at the Q.  Call on us!

  1. Aquilas del Desierto (Desert Eagles)

Desert Eagles help families whose loved ones are missing in the desert areas near the United States/Mexico border.  Since the Desert Eagles began in 2012, they rescued 92 and recovered the remains of another 92 people.  The group also works to save lives by visiting migrant centers throughout Mexico to inform migrants who are thinking of crossing the border of the life-threatening dangers.  The group also distributes posters and flyers that warn of the risks.  Desert Eagles is planning a larger campaign to reach as many of the 65 migrant centers in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras, giving presentations, talking to migrants, and raising awareness.

Many of you may recognize this name as the gift shop at the Franciscan Renewal Center, 5802 E. Lincoln Dr, Paradise Valley AZ 85253, 480-355-0353.

Items for sale at the event will include Tau caps, Franciscan socks, handmade wooden Taus, Franciscan notecards, local jewelry, Franciscan books, candles, bookmarks, magnets, and some cactus-themed items to remember Arizona.

  1. Bret Thoman OFS

     6. Franciscan Family Apostolate

The Franciscan Family Apostolate was founded in 1972 so we are celebrating our Golden Jubilee this year for caring for the poor of India. Our website is at http://www.openhearts.org.   1. Franciscan Mission Service

Franciscan Mission Service prepares and supports lay Catholics for two-year international, one-year domestic and 1-2 week short-term mission service opportunities in solidarity with impoverished and marginalized communities across the globe. https://franciscanmissionservice.org/

  1. Franciscan Peacemakers

Franciscan Peacemakers provide a pathway to sustainable, healthy, safe, and productive lives for women engaging in prostitution due to trauma, human sex trafficking and drug addiction. All our bath and body products are handcrafted by women survivors of sexual exploitation, trauma, and addiction. In turn the women survivors receive two years of rent-free housing (Clare Community), a living wage, employment experience, and a host of other healing services.  We will be offering some of our products, bar soaps and lotions, but all can be found online at:

Franciscans International works with Franciscans and other local partners around the world to bring grassroots experiences and a Franciscan voice to the United Nations. Our organization provides a platform to advocate for concrete and positive change in national and international policies, focusing on the pillars of Human Dignity, Integrity of Creation, Peace and Reconciliation. Franciscans International is sponsored by the Conference of the Franciscan Family, in which different Franciscan branches are represented.

  1. Casa Grounds for Solidarity

This ministry sells the delicious coffee of Café Justo at the Franciscan Renewal Center. Coffee is sold once a month after all Sunday Masses, and at it is sold at two venues on the property: the Lobby Desk and the Books and Blessings Gift Shop/bookstore. Café Justo markets a pure, organic, fair-trade coffee which is grown, harvested and marketed in the spirit of justice. The coffee is always freshly roasted with 9 months of the sale.

An Escape from Domestic Abuse, a true story of my abusive first marriage, escape, and recovery.  I wrote my book to help people in abusive situations escape and recover from the trauma of abuse.  In addition, my book helps their friends and families understand and identify abusive situations.  I am currently the minister of St. Thomas More Secular Franciscan Fraternity in Houston and look forward to seeing old friends and making new friends at the Q.
